Update: 10.30.2013 Beta Food Pellet Added and more . . .

Special Note:
"Atison's Betta Food" made by Ocean Nutrition, Aqua Pet Americas, 3528 West 500 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84104. Ingredients: Fish meal, wheat flower, soy meal, krill meal, minerals, vitamins and preservatives. Analysis: Crude Protein 36%; Crude fat 4.5%; Crude Fiber 3.5%; Moisture 8% and Ash 15% was added on Friday October 25, 2013 (McFarland, 2013).

Observations:
Numerous Colpidium (Corliss, 1979) were observed feeding on the food pellet.
They are found in organically rich sites, hence the food pellet (Corliss, 1979).

  • I also observed Protozoa poking at around microbe with many nuclei. Occasionally, the harassed organism would jump away with one or two quick jerks. These were residing in the upper portion of the aquarium
  • Paramecium (p. 260) were observed at various levels in the aquarium with sparse population (Corliss, 1979).
  • I also observed Actinopod (p.81) and a Hydrazoan (pg.169) in the center region of the aquarium (Rainis & Russell, 1996).

Setting up my MicroAquarium(TM)

  • For the water source in my MicroAquarium, I used a sample from Third Creek in Tyson Park.

The specific sample was from a partially shaded area.

Specific Data for Water Source: "Third Creek at Tyson Park. Knox Co. Knoxville TN Partial shade exposure. N30 57 13.53 W83 56 32.37 824 ft. 10/14/2013"(McFarland, 2013).

  • I also added three different aquatic plants . . .

  • I observed a worm twitching, a hydra with its flagellum working clearly motile, a coiled insect larvae feeding on cells, and tiny round green microbes that were moving around very swiftly.
